Diversity—Friend or Foe?

Recently, I had lunch with an old friend in my small, southern hometown. She made a racially charged comment in front of my daughter and me.  We were shocked; I have raised my daughter with the understanding that God has made all people and loves us all. She knows that God made people different and that our skin color is only 1/16th of an inch thick. So she lost a lot of respect for my friend, her elder, after she bashed someone of a different race.
I asked this friend what she thought Heaven would be like. Did she think that only people of her color were allowed inside Heaven’s gates? I asked also what would she do if she saw Jesus and he pronounced His name (Hey-Zues) because He could be Latino. Would she deny Him due to His difference? She was speechless.
What do you think?
