This afternoon, I watched a compelling documentary, The Invisible War. It was profound. I switched between rage, sadness, and empathy. As I watched my fellow sisters and brothers at arms, servicemen and women, share their stories of rape, harassment, and ultimately betrayal and retaliation from their Commanders. I watched and time stood still as their story was so familiar to mine. It was refreshing to see the truth told and I was honored to be a part of the class action law suit with SWAN (Servicewomen’s Action Network) last year which was covered in this documentary. Although, our case was dismissed because “Rape is an occupational hazard for a military woman”, it is not the end. The appeal is filed, and God is the ultimate Judge. I went for a walk after seeing the documentary. God gave me a gorgeous sign, the rainbow in the picture above. It’s His way of telling me He will keep His promise to heal me and protect me!
