“My brothers and sisters, believers in our glorious Lord Jesus Christ must not show favoritism.”
James 2:1 NIV
Not too long ago, I was at a musical concert with friends. We were walking to another area of the building and I literally ran into one of the “Superstars”. I politely stated, “Whoa, watch out.” and walked by. The pop star stood there stunned that I did not fall at his feet or ask for an autograph. There were other fans screaming and in a frenzy nearby so he couldn’t comprehend my calmness.
I later questioned my reaction. Why was I not excited? I also agree and appreciate this gentleman’s musical talent. Yet, I only worship one Man, Jesus. I realized the more mature I become in my Christian faith, the more I take on the attributes of God. I remembered James 2:1 where we are instructed not to show favoritism to anyone. What are your thoughts on this verse?
