ISBNs are a college student’s BFF

No, I’m not blogging about alphabet soup. ISBN (International Standard Book Number) is a unique number assigned to a book title by its publisher for tracking and ordering purposes.

Publishers, retailers, libraries, and readers use the ISBN as a way to specify a particular book without confusion.

ISBNs are located on the back side, right lower corner of a book. See below picture.

Now, I say ISBNs are college students’ best friends because when you know a book’s ISBN, you can do a simple internet search to find different retailers. My college bookstore wanted over $70 for my literature (pictured below) textbook. I bought it for $.97 used in excellent condition on Amazon. It was less than $5 after shipping. Most class syabli have the ISBN listed or you can go into the bookstore and get it off the book itself.

I believe I get an A+ in smart shopping. :). Shop wisely.
