Open Door

I am an open door,
Will you come thru?
My name is opportunity.
Yet, I’m full of uncertainties.

This image represents my present state of mind. A door is open and I’m not sure how to proceed. Possibility meets the unknown. I’m unsure of steps to take yet, I know God is on my side.

Divine meetings

I met a mother who recently lost her son as I was traveling. There was an unspoken connection, divine and spiritual. I gave her the smile and hug she needed. She gave me more hope to continue to share my heart. Helping others may expose wounds, but they are meant to be “aired out” to heal.

Kelly, you are special because you’re God’s daughter. It was amazing to have met you. God will use your story to inspire others as well. Keep smiling.

Sleepless nights + not eating = misery

Hello fellow WordPressers,
I had a challenging past few days. No sleep and I was so anxious I couldn’t eat. Can you relate? It’s not fun.
I’m back. Better than ever And leaving for summer vacation🌴🌴🌴 in a few hours
I want to encourage you this morning, no matter how bad your night is, the morning is always brighter! 🌞🌞🌞
Smile and love life! πŸ˜ƒπŸ˜ƒπŸ˜ƒ

Words Matter!

20140720-102007-37207276.jpg

Happy Sunday! Just a quick random thought this morning.

Words matter, if you are struggling from something, like fear, diabetes, cancer, high blood pressure, PTSD, addiction, ——–fill in the blank with your “challenge”. (Do not label it a problem or disease)
Instead of giving the issue power by talking about it, give God power to heal it.
For example:
I’m being healed from PTSD, not I have PTSD. πŸ˜ƒ

Words matter, choose them wisely. They can’t go back into your mouth. Please don’t fall down a spiral of chaotic pain, confusion, and negativity which poor statements (negative self-talk) bring into your life. 😱

A special thanks, to a certain smiling ministry that helped me realize this years ago.

Safe Prescence

Good morning. I want to share a quote with you today from my Jesus Calling devotional. It has made my heart smile. I hope it brightens your day as well.

The more aware you are of My presence, the safer you feel.

Sarah Young brings Acts 17:27-28 alive with that statement. I love this simple devotional, it’s like reading love letters from our Savior.

Have a happy and peaceful day! πŸ™‚

Yay! I did it, I finally finished designing my author website. http://www.nolongerwounded.com

My website is online

I’ve had my domain since November yet couldn’t find the time to get my site going.
One reason was I wasn’t sure if I could do it myself and I didn’t know who to use to help. I had a great experience with Wix.com and recommend them.

So readers, please visit my site and let me know what you think. I welcome all feedback. I’m not a professional web designer so you won’t hurt my feelings with constructive criticism. I was going for a simple and clean design.

Nightmares

20140716-231625-83785675.jpg

Bad dreams, nightmares, night terrors; however you label them, their result is never pleasant. I had another one of less dreaded dreams last night.

Doctors blame it on military related PTSD, despite the cause, these nasty images that bombard my sleep shake me up. I wake up panicked and it takes my mind awhile to accept that I’m safe.

I know I am not alone in my struggle. I am planning to write a short devotional pertaining this subject in the near future. Until then, I want to share a verse that comforts me when my sleep is disturbed. I hope it brings you comfort as well.

In peace I will lie down and sleep, for you alone, O LORD, will keep me safe.
Psalm 4:8 NLT

Be blessed and sleep peacefully my friends. πŸŒ™πŸ˜ŒπŸ’€

Nerds Rule 😎

Today, my daughter started BioChemistry Camp. She sent me this photo moments after her class started. I am honored that she has inherited my love of learning.
I am very blessed to be able to send her to enrichment programs. Growing up, I didn’t have the same opportunities. My parents didn’t really grasp my strong academic mind (I’m adopted). I was fortunate that many inspiring teachers crossed my path and challenged me to excel.
Motivate your children into excellence. They are our future. Plus, nerds rule. I love my cute nerd. ❀️❀️❀️
